Three Sleep Apnea Treatment Trends We’re Watching.

Trends exist in just about every field known to the human race. Sleep therapy is no different. And the industry has changed dramatically since the birth of the CPAP in 1978. Gone are the days of heavy CPAP units that sounded and looked like small planes and plastic CPAP masks that felt and looked like helmets.

In 2015, things are far more sophisticated for CPAP (a.k.a PAP) use. Today we will look at what trends are developing for 2015 and beyond.

1) Travel PAP

PAP machines now fit in the palm of your hand and are more portable than ever. Will this phase out all other models in 2015 or later?

2) AutoPAP over CPAP as a primary machine

AutoPAP is a machine that removes the guesswork about effective settings to treat Obstructive Sleep Apnea.. Will this eliminate CPAP’s from the market-place?

3) Small mask interfaces that become another mask (i.e. stem from the original design) to. effectively mix and match for optimized treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea with CPAP.

Mixing and matching PAP mask interfaces is a long-time practice, which usually means poor end-user results. A leading manufacturer has expanded their mask line-up that actually encourages you to mix and match! Will it last? And what other manufacturers are livid over this trend?

In the coming segments, we will explore each trend in detail and answer these provocative possibilities.

  1. I have the PAP. Since I used this I have good nights always. As far as I know the machines are helpful for apnea problems. Good luck for someone need it, and hope the latest machines be much better for the old models.
