Overview:
If you suffer from insomnia...
...it's likely you've tried every pill and program out there to get to sleep at night. But there's no "one size fits all" solution to insomnia—the latest clinical thinking holds that there are several different types of insomnia, each requiring a specialized treatment program. The key to effectively addressing sleeplessness lies in appreciating its effects on both your body and mind, and then mapping out a treatment plan based on the specific type of insomnia you have.

The first book to provide a personalized prescription for each of the three main types of insomnia, The Insomnia Answer goes far beyond simple recommendations like "cut out caffeine" and "avoid an afternoon nap." Dr. Paul Glovinsky and Dr. Art Spielman, clinical psychologists and specialists in the evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders, bring the mind back into the discussion of insomnia—teaching you how to prepare both your mind and body for sleep, and giving you the real answers you've been looking for to finally get the rest you need.

Do you have difficulty falling asleep? Do you have Sunday Night Insomnia? Do you dread the approach of bedtime? Does it take you hours to get to sleep? There's a treatment in here for you.

Do you have difficulty staying asleep? Do you awake with a start after sleeping a short time? Is about three hours of sleep all you can count on? Do you consistently awaken hours before you need to? There's a treatment in here for you.

Do you have a broken sleep pattern? Is your sleep scattered around the clock? Do you awaken many times across the night? Does working the night shift prevent you from getting adequate sleep? There's a treatment in here for you.

Based on cutting-edge knowledge of circadian rhythms developed and refined in research labs over the last two decades, as well as the authors' own model of insomnia, The Insomnia Answer offers a revolutionary new sleep program that helps you self-diagnose your particular type of insomnia and treat it accordingly. You'll learn how to be still in body and mind, how to stop trying to get to sleep, and, instead, how to let sleep find you.
